Floods in Pakistan 2026: Emergency Response and Relief Appeal

Pakistan is once again facing a serious humanitarian emergency as the 2026 monsoon season brings heavy rainfall, flash floods, urban flooding and landslides across vulnerable communities. Homes have collapsed, roads have been damaged and families have been forced to leave affected areas in search of safety. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir are among the regions exposed to rain-related emergencies. Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan is prepared to support affected communities through emergency rescue, evacuation assistance, food distribution, clean drinking water, temporary shelter and medical services.

“When floodwaters take away homes and livelihoods, timely rescue, food, clean water, shelter and medical care can give affected families hope and a path towards recovery.”

Crisis Updates - Floods in Pakistan

General Questions

A cloudburst is an extreme weather event where an unusually large amount of rain falls in a very short time, triggering devastating flash floods and landslides within minutes.
Seasonal floods usually give communities some warning time. In contrast, cloudbursts unleash heavy rain instantly, leading to rapid flash floods that sweep away homes, roads, and bridges without warning.
Flash floods displace families, contaminate water sources, destroy farmland, kill livestock, and cut off access to food and medical emergencies.
